CPG - What's In The Bag 2018

February 05, 2018

Last week I was fortunate enough to shoot 79 in Orlando during my trip to the PGA Merchandise Show in a round that won't soon be forgotten. It was one of those days when everything was clicking.  Sure, being a former tour player means I have a ton of God given talent, but truth be told I owe a lot of my success to my equipment.

That day I averaged 255 yards off the tee with a Wilson 10.5 degree "Killer Whale" (orcinus orca)  275 cc Oversize Metal with a FireStick 2.8 Graphite shaft (R) that went in the bag just before Men's League last October, but it was my strong play with a set of RAM Advisory irons and Alien 2 Pro Series 1 wedges that proved to be the difference.

After going out in 4 over 40 on the front nine, I bogeyed the 11th and 14th before rebounding with three straight pars on 15, 16 and 17.  The highlight of the three hole stretch came on the long 400 yard par 4 16th where I played a nifty back handed 6 iron punchout followed by a ripped 8 iron from 145 yards out to 6 feet.  A stress free bogey on 18 sealed the sub 80 round.

Here's a look at my entire bag setup.
