Employee of the Month - Carl Brubaker

October 05, 2021

Congratulations to our September Employee of the Month - Carl Brubaker

Let's get to know our Deputy Head Marshal

Name: Carl T. Brubaker

Position: Deputy Head Marshal

Age: 63

Birthplace: Lone Jack, Missouri

Years employed at club: 1

Bio: Carl Thomas Brubaker was born at home in the winter of 1957 because his parents didn't believe in modern medicine or "doctors". His father was an over the road truck driver and his mother was a home maker and part time Pentecostal minister. Carl was home-schooled from an early age because his parents did not want him exposed to the dangerous world view that most public school kids experienced....such as "temptations of the flesh" or "science".

Instead, Carl received a rigorous religion based education focused primarily on speaking in tongues and memorizing the Book of Revelation word for word.

When not studying the Bible, Carl enjoyed a normal all-American childhood. He developed an interest in auto mechanics, welding, knot tying and firearms.

At the tender age of 16, Carl's life was turned upside down when he lost his father and two of his 9 siblings in a religious snake handling ceremony gone bad. It was at that moment, he knew he had to go out in to the world.

Like many young men at that time, Carl lied about his age and joined the Marines. His lack of experience in the real world proved difficult for Carl and five weeks in to basic training he was dishonorably discharged for assault, petty theft, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and attempted desertion.

Eventually, Carl got his life on track by forging a resume and getting a job as a civics teacher and wrestling coach at Jefferson Davis Middle School in Norcross, GA.

Wrestling became his passion.

For reasons Carl could not articulate, he never stayed in one place long. Instead,  Carl was shuttled from district to district throughout the 1970's and 80's.

After spending most of the 90's on permanent disability for PTSD from his time in the military, Carl decided to begin life anew.

After several failed attempts to become a volunteer policeman, Carl moved to Kansas City and took a job as the night watchman at a local dog racing facility and became obsessed with guns.

A chance encounter with our Head Marshal Darrel Bevins at an anti-immigration rally sparked a friendship that brought Carl to our club.
