The reigning US Open champion caused quite a stir on social media this week when he posted a pic from his indoor simulator featuring some eye popping numbers with his driver. Most notably, one tee ball in particular that showed a carry distance of 403 yards. Here is his post on social media.
Listen, that's a f***ing bomb and I'll be the first to admit it. But because I'm a #professional, I took a little deeper look at the numbers and noticed that our boy conveniently failed to mention another key metric that was in a slightly smaller font.....wind speed.
If we take a closer look, it seems Team Bryson conveniently had the simulator set on a 20 MPH straight down wind setting. Is 20 mph a hurricane? No. But it's worth mentioning that I typically won't play if it's blowing more than 15.
It makes a big difference.
Again, a 400 yard drive on the moon is impressive, but failing to mention this little detail feels like peak Bryson to me.
To summarize: Congrats to Bryson on his 340 yard drive.
